Inserting a SWF into a PDF

How to insert and view a Flash SWF file in a PDF file

Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and Foxit Reader are the two most popular viewers for PDFs containing Flash SWF animations.

To insert a SWF into a PDF, you will need a PDF editing program. Our tutorials are for Adobe Acrobat Pro and Foxit Reader.

Download Adobe Acrobat Pro 9: http://www.adobe.com/fr/products/acrobatpro/ (30-day free trial)

Download Foxit Reader 3.0: http://www.clubic.com/lancer-le-telechargement-19504-0-foxit-pdf-reader.html (trial version)

Download the installation file and save it on your computer.
Then install the program by following the instructions.

Once your document is open, there are two ways of accessing the Flash Tool to insert your SWF animation into your PDF :

a. In the top menu bar, select "Tools/Multimedia/Flash Tool."
Image step 3b b. In the taskbar, select "Multimedia/Flash Tool."
Step 4 Image step 4 The cursor becomes a cross: click and drag it to create the placeholder for your animation, then release.
